Our Friends In The North was an ambitious BBC mini-series first broadcast by the BBC in 1996, which covered four decades of British life through the eyes of four people who began as friends in 1964, through to 1995.
Many of the characters and events in OFITN are either direct analogues or composites of real people and incidents. This guide is an attempt to point the reader in the direction of further information about the themes covered by the series.
